This wonderful deciduous shrub produces red-purple flowers panicles that can grow up to 20" long. Blooms from June to September. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Tolerates rabbits. Snip spent flowers to encourage additional blooms. Cut to the ground in late winter to encourage superior flowers and help maintain a better shape.
Uses: perennial gardens, shrub gardens
