Sweet, healthy, and space-saving!

Introducing Yezberry Sugar Pie® Japanese haskap. It's the smallest Yezberry® variety yet. Reaching just 3-4' tall, it allows even those with limited space to enjoy these tasty and healthful berries. One of the earliest plants to bloom, each spring, tubular yellow blooms mature into elongated that ripen to blue in early summer. They're sweet enough to eat right off the plant, but they're also good for drying, processing, or cooking. This tough, deer-resistant edible is native to North America and requires no special care to bear fruit every year. Plant with another Yezberry® variety for an abundant fruit set on both plants. Attracts bees. Resists deer. Native to North America. Small or miniature.

- Delicious, juicy berries taste like a cross between a raspberry and a blueberry.
- Easy to grow
- Plant two different varieties for best results - both plants will bear fruit.

Deciduous shrub
Uses: border plant, container, edible herb, good for screening, landscape, mass planting.
Part sun to sun
Height: 36" - 48" tall
Plant 48" - 60" apart
Growability: easy

Uses notes:
With its small size, Yezberry Sugar Pie® can be grown in small spaces. Add it to your vegetable garden, or use it to create a low edible hedge.

Please note: To produce berries, you'll need another Yezberry® pollinator.

Maintenance notes:
All Yezberry® varieties are very easy to grow and are not fussy about soil or pruning. Plant another Yezberry variety within 50' of Yezberry Sugar Pie® to ensure abundant fruit set on both plants. If pruning is needed or desired, do so when the fruit harvest is complete. You can harvest Yezberry® haskaps as they ripen, turning from green to deep blue. If you taste a blue fruit and it does not taste sweet, leave the crop on the plant for another couple of days to ripen fully.

In hot climates, afternoon shade is recommended.

Fun Facts:
Yezberry® Japanese haskaps are closely related to best-selling Sugar Mountain sweetberry huneysuckle®. However, the Yezberry® series was developed from purely Japanese strains of haskap, while the Sugar Mountain series is of Russian heritage. Other differences: Yezberry® haskaps bloom a bit later, so they're a good choice for areas that get frequent spring frosts. Yezberry® fruits are plumper and rounder than Sugar Mountain® fruits, but both are equally tasty and heavy-bearing when it comes to harvest time.
