Columbine Aquilegia 'Origami Mixture'
Columbine Aquilegia 'Origami Mixture'

Long blooming 3" star-like multi-colored flowers sit above healthy green foliage.
This is a hybrid strain of Columbine that flowers freely the first season from seed. Plants have a compact habit, the large, upfacing blooms usually bicolored in shades of blue, white, pink , red, rose or yellow. Flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Removing spent flowers will increase the blooming time. Great in containers. Since Columbines are relatively short lived, allow some of the plants to go to seed and self sow. Leaf miners or sawfly may disfigure the leaves around flowering time. Simply trim off the ugly foliage and the plants will grow fresh leaves. Blooms late spring to early summer. Deer resistant, attracts butterflies, container plant, winter hardy.

Homeowner Planting and Maintenance Tips:

Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Plant will reseed itself if seed pods are left on plant. Nice variety to use for container gardening.

Uses: Cut flower, borders, cottage or woodland areas, massed
Full sun to partial shade
Height: 14" - 16" tall
