Dramatic orange purple blooms with a white eye.
The hardy Ice Plants are native to South Africa but are amazingly hardy in North America, provided they are grown in the sun and in very well-drained soil. This extraordinary selection forms a low carpet or mat of succulent, apple-green leaves, bearing loads of starry flowers with petals that are bright apricot around the perimeter with a darker halo effect, vibrant pink at the base and a white eye. A very unique colour combination. These will bloom from late spring through fall. A great choice for hot, dry areas. Excellent in the rock garden or wall and for edging the front of a border. Attractive to butterflies. Drought tolerant once established. Where winter drainage is poor, consider growing this as a summer blooming annual. Plant Select® Winner.
