Spirea Japonica 'Magic Carpet'
Spirea Japonica 'Magic Carpet'

Spirea are easy to care for shrubs that produce an abundance of colorful flowers and foliage throughout the summer. They are exceptionally hardy and are regularly used in landscapes where a tough-as-nails plant is needed. Once established, they can tolerate dry soils and some drought. Use as a specimen or plant in mass.

A tidy, compact shrub that fits just about anywhere in the garden because it's so small, the vibrant red new leaves in spring will mature to gold then turn burgundy-red in fall. Clusters of pink flowers will cover the plant in summer. Deadhead to promote a fall rebloom. Deer resistant. Attracts hummingbirds and songbirds.
