A large shrub or small tree that ks known for its summer-time smoke-like airy flower plumes of yellow and coral, foliage emerges bright red in spring then turns to a fiery orange-red in fall, makes a real statement in the landscape. Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts songbirds.

COTINUS

Common Name: Smokebush

Smokebush are easy to grow and will tolerate a wide variety of soils except wet or poorly drained ones. Plant in full sun for the best leaf color which is everchanging and showy from spring through fall. Summer flowers are unusual, long lasting and look like a plume of smoke rising.
