Shrub-type perennial with erect woody stems and rather informal growth habit. Plants have attractive whitish stems with aromatic silver-green foliage. Exceptional long bloom time from mid-summer into fall. Cut back plants to 8" - 12" each spring to maintain good vigor.

This seed selection produces clouds of small lavender-blue flowers on sturdy stems in summer that do not break or split, outstanding late-season garden interest with aromatic, silvery foliage, Blue Steel needs no vernalization or overwintering to produce flowers. Attracts bees and butterflies. Drought tolerant.
